Natural Light Portraits with Jana

Jana and I have been in touch for a while and agreed to meet for some simple and authentic portraits. My personal goal was to stick to the basics and essentials of portraits to create some timeless and natural shots.

Hence, we only used daylight from the windows. It was the first time I used my new backdrop from Gravity Backdrops that i recently bought used from @aleksanderstojanov. The white subtile texture is perfect for these kind of shots.

As you can see, Jana and I quickly warmed up and we created a whole bunch of wonderful portraits. I certainly enjoyed that session and i am super happy with the results.

While the film results were quickly developed, scanned and post-processed and I handed the results to Jana after a week or so, it was my very first time that i needed almost 3 months to post-process the digital results. To be fair - it wasn’t necessarily lack of time (which would be a poor excuse t.b.h.) - it was more my inability to find the muse and creativity to get going because a lot is currently going on in my life. I think doing something creative while you are not in the required mental state - will impact the results. Hence, i rather park it than creating something that doesn’t resonates with me.

So my apologies once again for my delays, Jana.

Nevertheless, a huge “Thank You” to Jana for this wonderful session - and looking forward to hopefully meet again for more portraits !
